A downloadable game

Flyboy '64 is a one player game for the Commodore 64. You can play the game on original hardware or on a pc/mac by using an emulator.

AIM OF THE GAME:
The game depicts a hang-glider, Flying Jack, gliding in the sky. While gliding over land and sea, Jack must avoid obstacles on land and in the sky. The only way to defend yourself when enemies are getting to close is to start kicking, and hopefully you can kick down the stunt pilots flying around you. As he glides along he must pick up letters in correct order (B first, O second etc.). In the end of the level he must land on a platform.

CONTROLS:
Control the hanglider with a joystick in port two. Press firebutton to start kicking.

IMPORTANT:
Flyboy '64 is based on the arcade game Flyboy aka Fast Freddie from 1982.  The commodore 64 version you have here is only a preview, and you are not playing a finished game. Most graphic and code is WIP, and music/sound is not existing. The loading picture (also WIP) displayed on this itch page is not enclosed in the file you can download. As this is a preview, we can not guarantee that the game is free for bugs.

Developing  this game was decided to be stopped 07.04.2018 due to lack of motivation. The project is cancelled and will not be continued in the future.

Install instructions

To play the game, download the ZIP file and unzip the game.

The D64 file could be transfered to a real floppy disk and played on a Commodore 64/128 (both pal & ntsc compatible).

If you want to play it on your PC/Mac you can use an emulator like VICE. Remember to use the latest version of Vice (like version 3.1) to get the best emulation. If you use old versions of vice, the c64 is not perfect emulated and bugs might occur in the game.

You can download VICE from http://vice-emu.sourceforge.net/
